Belmont's Annual Art Exhibition

On Tuesday October 9, 2018 Belmont Private hosted the grand opening of the hospitals annual Art Exhibition at The Studio, Westfield Carindale to celebrate creativity and bring awareness to Mental Health Week.

Belmont Private Hospital’s much anticipated Art & Craft Exhibition was held from Tuesday October 9 –12, 2018 at The Studio, Westfield Carindale. Over 40 pieces of artwork were exhibited during the week from our talented patients, including visual and fine arts to assorted handicrafts, quilting and much more. The exhibition was very well-received by the public, with a number of commissioned Artists and Teachers commenting on the exceptional standard of the entries displayed.

Thank-you to our special guest speaker, Author Samuel Maguire who presented a reading of his debut novel No Point in Stopping; a memoir about dabbling with magic to deal with mental illness and the places where imagination and real life blur.

Samuel Maguire is a Brisbane based author who was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 1 at 19 and often uses his experiences with it as inspiration for stories.

Belmont supports and encourages the diverse standard of artwork from novice to accomplished and would like to thank all patients for their valuable contributions to this years’ exhibition.
