Celebrating the Lunar New Year for a Balanced Body and Mind

Belmont Private Hospital celebrates the Lunar New Year with traditional arts and crafts sessions.

The 2019 Luna New Year or Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year, has come around quickly this year.

From Tuesday February 5 – Tuesday February 19, 2019 many Chinese families will be celebrating the turn of the Lunar calendar with food, fruit and sweets as they ring in the Year of the Pig!

As the dawn of the Lunar New Year approaches, the staff and patients at Belmont Private Hospital have been preparing celebrations with festivities including paper quilling and paper crane making, music activities and various other arts and craft sessions. During this time, the celebrations have provided an opportunity to educate our non Chinese patients about the history, meaning and importance of Chinese New Year. The sessions have brought joy to many of the patients whilst educating and promoting mental wellness for the community.

Happy Chinese New Year 2019! Wishing you a successful and prosperous Year of the Pig #ChineseNewYear
