On 12 – 14 July, 2019 Healthe Care Australia attended The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists Queensland Conference as premium event sponsors.

This is the fourth consecutive year that Healthe Care Australia have partnered with the RANZCP branch in sponsoring and supporting the annual conference working in conjunction with Dr Jason Lee and newly appointed conference convener; Dr Sunanda Ghosh.

This year’s Queensland College Conference, held at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort in Noosa Heads focused on Resilience and Recovery in Trauma: Insights under the sun.

The weekend event commenced with the inaugural Addictions workshop and provided attendees with the opportunity to gain insights into Opioids, post-traumatic stress and chronic pain, as well as Stimulants and bipolar disorder, Cannabis, tobacco and schizophrenia, and Alcohol, depression and anxiety.

With over 150 delegates in attendance, the two day conference was a great success. Renowned keynote speakers; Tracy Smart, Professor Sandy McFarlane and Dr Andrew Khoo delivered very strong presentations endorsing messages around the prolonged and unanticipated impact of traumatic stress, resilience, prescribing patters and the Pharmacological management of PTSD.

This years conference was supported by Belmont Private Hospital’s CEO; Joanne Levin, Townsville Private Clinic’s CEO; Patrick McGurrin, Eden Private Hospital’s CEO/DCS; Jo Munday along with representation by Andrea Love and Consultant Psychiatrists from Townsville Private, Belmont Private and Robina Private Hospitals.
