DVA admission guide

DVA admission guide

As a Tier 1 provider for the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA), we offer a range of mental health services to eligible recipients (veterans and war widows) which include:

  • Pre-admission and discharge planning support
  • Assistance in the co-ordination and streamlining of your care
  • Referral to appropriate services and resources
  • General health and lifestyle education, and counselling

Your DVA admission entitlements

If you're an eligible veteran or war widow, you won't have any personal expenses for treatment at Belmont Private Hospital and you won't receive an account.

You will, however, be charged for pharmacy and personal items not related to your admission diagnosis.

Your accommodation

We do our best to accommodate all requests and provide a private room where possible but at times where we are at capacity, shared rooms will be allocated with other patients of the same gender.

Transport to and from Hospital

Some veteran patients are eligible to have transport arranged for them through the DVA.

Patients can pre-arrange transport vouchers with the DVA  prior to their admission to cover their journey to and from Hospital.

Please contact the DVA directly to organise (not the specialists or health professionals at Belmont).
