Belmont Private Hospital Champions Community Care at APDOQ Event

Belmont Private Hospital was proud to sponsor the Association of Pakistani Doctors Queensland (APDOQ) event, Late Life Struggles – Integrating Physical and Mental Health in Older Adults, held at the Emporium Hotel South Bank.

This thought-provoking evening brought together healthcare professionals from across Queensland to explore the complex challenges of ageing. The discussion focused on the importance of holistic care—addressing both physical and mental health needs to ensure older adults receive comprehensive support.

We were especially proud to see our very own Dr Syeda Shahzeen Fatima contribute to the conversation. Dr Fatima shared her expertise on mental health in later life, highlighting how integrated care models can improve outcomes for older adults and reduce the stigma often associated with mental health challenges in ageing populations.

Events like these are more than educational—they strengthen collaboration within our diverse medical community and help shape the future of patient care. At Belmont Private Hospital, we believe that supporting initiatives like APDOQ’s CME events is essential to advancing mental health awareness and fostering a culture of shared learning.

A big thank you to APDOQ for hosting such a meaningful evening and to all the healthcare professionals who continue to champion better care for older Australians.
