Belmont Private Hospital was proud to attend the Redlands & Bayside Pregnancy & Baby Expo on Saturday, 15 August 2026, connecting with expectant parents, new families and community members seeking information, resources and support.
The event brought together a range of healthcare providers and parenting organisations, giving families the opportunity to explore local services and learn more about the support available during pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
For our team, the expo was a valuable opportunity to speak with families about maternal wellbeing and perinatal mental health support, including services offered through the Belmont Centre for Perinatal Depression and Anxiety (BCPND).
Many people know that pregnancy and caring for a new baby can bring joy and excitement. However, it can also be a time of significant emotional, physical and psychological change.
Mental health concerns during pregnancy and after birth are common and can affect anyone, regardless of age, background or previous mental health history. Conditions such as perinatal anxiety, postnatal depression and other mental health challenges can occur during pregnancy or in the first year after a baby is born.
Early support and treatment can make a meaningful difference, which is why raising awareness of available services remains so important.
The Belmont Centre for Perinatal Depression and Anxiety (BCPND) is a specialised perinatal mental health service located within Belmont Private Hospital.
BCPND provides dedicated care for women experiencing mental health challenges during pregnancy or after childbirth. Care is delivered by an experienced multidisciplinary team within a supportive hospital environment, helping women access the treatment and support they need during a particularly important stage of life.
Many visitors to the expo were surprised to learn that specialist perinatal mental health services are available locally and can support women experiencing symptoms such as:
By attending community events such as the Pregnancy & Baby Expo, Belmont Private Hospital aims to help more families understand the signs of perinatal mental health concerns and where to seek support.
Pregnancy and parenting expos create opportunities for families to access trusted health information in one place. They allow parents to meet healthcare professionals, ask questions and discover services they may not have known existed.
For many attendees, simply having a conversation with a healthcare provider can help reduce uncertainty and provide reassurance about where to turn for support if challenges arise.
Events such as the Redlands & Bayside Pregnancy & Baby Expo also strengthen connections between healthcare services and the communities they serve, helping ensure families can access timely information and appropriate care when they need it.
As part of Aurora Healthcare, Belmont Private Hospital is committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of women, parents and families across Brisbane, Redlands and the Bayside region.
Whether families are seeking information about pregnancy, navigating the challenges of early parenthood or looking for specialised support for perinatal mental health concerns, our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
We would like to thank the organisers of the Redlands & Bayside Pregnancy & Baby Expo and everyone who visited our stand. It was a privilege to connect with local families and share information about the services available to support parents throughout their journey.
