Dr Heidi Reichhold

Dr Reichhold is a compassionate and dedicated psychiatrist, known for her collaborative and patient-centred approach to mental health care. With a background in medical training from University College London and psychiatry training in Brisbane, she combines her extensive public sector experience with a personal, holistic focus in private practice. After gaining an Advanced Certificate in Adult Psychiatry, Dr Reichhold transitioned to the private sector in 2024 to provide continuity of care to a broad range of patients, drawing on her experience in areas such as rehabilitation psychiatry, vulnerable women’s services, and consultation psychiatry across inpatient and outpatient settings.

A skilled general adult psychiatrist, Dr Reichhold treats a wide variety of conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety, trauma-related conditions, addiction, and personality disorders. Her patient-centred focus ensures that all individuals feel respected and heard in their mental health journey, making her an ideal choice for patients seeking an empathetic and respectful approach to care. After becoming a mother, Dr Reichhold developed a keen interest in perinatal and postnatal mental health, but she remains equally dedicated to supporting men and women alike through life’s various stages and challenges. 

Her strong commitment to training the next generation of psychiatrists as a College examiner, lecturer, and Academic Subcommittee member keeps her engaged with the latest advances in psychiatry. This role not only enhances her own skills but ensures her patients receive the benefits of evidence-based, cutting-edge treatments. 

As a proponent of the Recovery Movement in psychiatry, Dr Reichhold strives to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, empowering her patients to take an active role in their recovery journey. She values continuity and collaboration, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and carers to support her patients’ overall well-being.
