Dr Margaret Carmody

Dr Margaret Carmody is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a strong commitment to the recovery model in delivering mental health care. Her interests lie within the areas of acute and chronic trauma, perinatal, psychosis as well as mood and anxiety disorders. Born in country Queensland, Dr Margaret Carmody studied Medicine at Newcastle University, New South Wales. She worked within various public hospitals across Sydney and country New South Wales, before transferring back to Queensland.

Dr Carmody completed her Psychiatry training in Brisbane and has worked at many of the larger public hospitals within the Brisbane area. For the last few years, she has worked within public hospitals as a Psychiatrist across various domains, and has been heavily involved in teaching medical students and Psychiatry Registrars.
