Professional background

Dr Samuel Brysonis a general adult psychiatrist and Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Bryson has been fortunate to work in twelve different hospitals, both public and private, and in so doing gain a wide range of experience in areas of psychiatry as diverse as psychosis, mood disorders, adolescent and young adult mental health, forensic psychiatry, consultation-liaison psychiatry, eating disorders, working with defence force, peri-natal psychiatry, psychotherapy, and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Dr Bryson provides inpatient care at Belmont Private hospital where he also has consulting rooms from which he conducts his private practice. His main areas of clinical interest include addiction psychiatry, ADHD, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Thinking to the future, Dr Bryson also has an interest in psychedelic assisted psychotherapy as well as the intersection of technology, artificial intelligence and mental health pathology. It is hoped that these will further augment current treatment strategies and in turn help alleviate patient suffering, improve their productivity and overall quality of life. When not working Dr Bryson enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing music and watching comedy. He is not sure if this makes him wholesome, boring, or if that’s a tautology.
