Professional background
Shelby, BPsySc(Hons), MClinPsych is a Clinical Psychologist. Shelby completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at QUT in 2018 and has since worked with patients in individual and group-based therapy contexts.
Shelby prefers to practice from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - based perspective to help patients to create more fulfilling and meaningful lives while reducing the impact of symptoms. She aims to provide a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic space to explore patients' experiences as well as introduce practical evidence-based strategies.
Shelby also has experience with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy approaches. She draws on these as appropriate to provide integrative and client-centered intervention.
