Outpatient Referrals
Situated onsite at Belmont Private Hospital are the private practices of 26 consultant psychiatrists. These practices are located within the Connolly, Pinel and Helen Boyle Clinics.
Information for Patients
A referral from your GP needs to be received and accepted before an appointment can be booked with one of our psychiatrists.
Please forward your referral directly to the practice of your preferred psychiatrist (contact details are available on each profile) and the secretary will pass it onto the doctor to determine if they are able to take on your care. Acceptance is not guaranteed, and depends upon the doctor’s current patient load, and the availability of adequate appointment space to provide the required level of care.
If your referral has been accepted, the secretary will contact you via phone or email to arrange an appointment. If we are unable to accept your referral, we will advise your referring doctor of this outcome.
Any queries relating to fees, availability, and wait times, can be answered by the doctor's secretary directly via phone or email.
Information for Referring Doctors
If your patient is requiring admission please forward your referral directly to our Admissions team. Please refer to the Admissions information page for further information.
If your patient is seeking an outpatient appointment please forward your referral directly to the private practice of the preferred psychiatrist. Referrals can be received via medical objects (preferred), email or fax.
Where possible the referral should contain:

- The main issues (a summary of the problems, the perceived contributors and any safety concerns);
- Medical history and the relevant medical and mental health treatment that has been provided;
- Whether a psychologist has recommended the GP make the referral (include their specific concerns and contact details).
