The Circle of Security Parenting program (COS) is an 8-week program that alternates between Monday mornings from 9.15am – 12.30pm and Monday evenings from 6.15pm – 9.30pm. The COS program is a way of thinking about children that enables parents to look beyond the children’s immediate behaviour and think about how to meet their relationship and emotional needs.
Welcome to Circle of Security Parenting
Exploring Our Children’s Needs all the Way Around the Circle
You will participate in group sessions lead by a Circle of Security facilitator. You will learn to understand and interact with their child’s moods and behaviour. Based on more than 40 years of research COS focuses on the relationships that provide children with emotional support. Using a gentle pace, the program helps parents to fully discover and understand how to interact with their children in a more positive and healthy manner.
To create a secure attachment between parent and child.
To teach children how to manage their emotions.
How to attune to your child’s shifts in attention and emotion.
How to explore your relationship with your child.
To distinguish children’s emotional needs.
