About Managing ADHD Follow-Up Program

The ADHD Follow-Up Program is designed for patients who have completed the Managing ADHD Program. This program provides support and ongoing reinforcement of skills practice for manging ADHD. This program uses a strengths-based approach and includes new topics such as ADHD burnout, hyperfocus and rejection sensitivity.

This program may be suitable for you if:

  • You have completed the Managing ADHD Program and would like further group support.
  • You experience symptoms of ADHD or have been diagnosed with ADHD.
  • You struggle with motivation and procrastination.
  • You find it difficult to stay focused on one task or often get easily distracted.
  • You have a tendency to say or do things before thinking.

What you will experience

Throughout this program you will participate in group sessions which typically have between 8-12 participants. The group will be lead by 2 qualified allied health professionals who will support group participants to share lived experiences, and to learn practical skills and evidence-based strategies for managing ADHD. At the end of each session, individuals will be encouraged to set a practise task which will be reviewed in the following session.

Understand ADHD - Develop a deeper understanding of common experiences that come with ADHD.

Review of Skills - Improve memory consolidation of skills with repetition and practise of skills.

Self-compassion - Learn about neurodiversity to promote self-acceptance

How to get started

To attend this program you must be currently under the care of a Psychiatrist with admission rights to Belmont Private Hospital and attend regular appointments. These must be on a 3 monthly basis (as a minimum) during your attendance.

Who will find this program helpful?

This program is developed for individuals who have completed the Managing ADHD Program.

When does this treatment start, and how long does it take?

The ADHD Follow-Up Program runs fortnightly, alternating between a Monday evening from 5.30pm to 8.45pm and a Monday morning from 9.15 to 12.30pm.

How much does it cost?

Patients are admitted as a day patient and as such, can claim their attendance via their health fund. We ask that patients confirm any applicable out-of-pocket excess or gap costs directly with Belmont Private Hospital by calling 07 3398 0270.
