This eight-week program runs on Tuesdays and is designed for Young Adults between the ages of 16 and 25 years old. The program is designed to assist with managing challenges associated with Social Anxiety as well as improving Social Skills. The program utilises primarily Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) based intervention strategies to provide practical skills for practice during the eight weeks and beyond.
In the Managing Social Anxiety and Building Social Skills for Young Adults program, you can expect to spend four weeks on CBT-based skills for reducing anxiety, then four weeks on building skilfulness and confidence in social situations. The group will be faciliated by Allied Health Professionals. Part of the intervention will include engaging with other group members with similar concerns and practicing skills within the safety of the group.
Learning and practising cognitive, physiological and behavioural strategies for managing social anxiety
Building confidence in engaging in familiar and unfamiliar social situations
Reducing avoidance and fear of social situations
Developing social skills to build friendships and other relationships
Understanding signs of healthy relationships and appropriate/effective boundaries
