TDU Follow-Up is a weekly program offered every Tuesday for those who have completed the 3 week inpatient TDU program. This program serves as an extension of the knowledge and skills learned within TDU including understanding theoretical components of trauma and dissociation. It introduces a broad range of topics with a focus on safety, stabilisation, skills development and peer support.
You will participate in group sessions lead by two qualified Allied Health Professionals. Participants will be supported to share lived experiences and to learn practical skills and evidence-based strategies for managing and reducing symptoms as well as strengthening self-identity and interpersonal relationships. Eash session focuses on exploring different aspects of trauma theory and treatment.
Understanding complex trauma - learn about the symptoms of trauma and what activates these, and develop strategies to reduce chronic dysregulation.
Understanding dissociation - learn ways to recognise and manage symptoms with consideration for safety planning.
Shifting perceptions - learn to challenge unhelpful thoughts and use helpful strategies to manage distress and cope in difficult situations.
Build healthy relationships - learn how to navigate relationships using assertive communication, set boundaries and respond effectively to conflict.
