Professional background
Dr Chaston Wu graduated from University of Newcastle, Australia, and has worked in psychiatry for over ten years. He brings broad experience across public and private hospital settings in New South Wales, Western Australia, and Queensland. He also holds the title of honorary adjunct assistant professor at Bond University.
Born in Australia, Dr Wu spent much of his childhood overseas before completing high school in Brisbane, developing adaptability and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures. This has shaped his ability to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds and social contexts. He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
Dr Wu is particularly passionate about evidence-based, holistic interventions such as exercise, nutrition, and meditation. He also has a strong interest in psychotherapy and utilises medication-assisted therapies, including ketamine. He is committed to patient-centred care, grounded in understanding, compassion, and collaboration.
Outside of work, he enjoys painting, martial arts (Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai), fitness, yoga and motorcycle riding. His choice to pursue psychiatry was driven by a deep curiosity to understand the human mind, emotions, consciousness, and relationships.
