Dr Shama Kanodia is a consultant psychiatrist in private practice at Belmont Private Hospital.

Dr Shama Kanodia is a perinatal and general psychiatrist with over 19 years of post-graduate experience. She has general and specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Dr Kanodia has trained extensively in mental health in both the public and private sector in Queensland.

Dr Kanodia has a special interest in Women's mental health. Dr Kanodia holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry (FRANZCP) and has completed Advanced Training Certificate in Adult Psychiatry.

Dr Kanodia has interest in medical education and holds a conjoint appointment with University of Queensland. She is also a member of Faculty for Adult Psychiatry in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry. Dr Kanodia has interests in treating perinatal mental disorders, depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and obsessive -compulsive disorder.

She is trained in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS). Dr Kanodia is a member of Perinatal and Infant Psychiatry Special Interest Group (PIPSIG) and Marce Society Australasian Chapter.
